General Description

This two day conference is for nurses who work with people who have complex chronic and long-term illness. Ausmed ran a similar conference last year in Bundaberg which was very highly evaluated by participants. This conference is packed full of interesting and relevant information for those who work in the community as well as in general hospital settings and general practice.

There are a range of presenters who are from Brisbane, Melbourne, The Gold Coast and Sydney. They will rapidly bring you up-to-date on contemporary best-practices on topics ranging from chronic renal failure, diabetes mellitus and chronic heart failure.

Day one looks at some of the pervasive mental illnesses that can result from chronic physical ill health and disease. Day two offers three clinical streams from which you can select two to attend. All of the presenters are very highly evaluated educators with a strong and extensive knowledge of their topics.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to really get 'up-to-speed' on some difficult areas of nursing care. Not to be missed!

If you have identified a professional need to improve your understanding of chronic illnesses as part of your planned learning activities, then this program will offer you an opportunity to gain continuing professional development (CPD) hours related to this topic.
