Nurse Educators Wanted
Location: Australia wide Department: Conferences
Ausmed is actively seeking the services of nurse educators (who are located in most capital cities in Australia) for occasional sessional work at our conferences and study days. Ideally, you will either work for yourself, or be employed in a position that enables you the flexibility, to occasionally take time off to pursue outside educational work. Some of our nurse educators only work once or twice a year for Ausmed, whilst others work one day a month or even more frequently. We are interested in most specialities. The characteristics we look for are:
- Nurse educators who keep professionally updated to ensure the provision of a quality service.
- Nurse Educators who regularly critically reflect on their own performance through peer / team, network, clinical supervision and appraisal.
- Nurse Educators who can develop and provide a schedule of clinical education and training that ensures that the standards of nursing care are at a high level and reflect best-practice.
- Nurses who are passionate about teaching and love to share their expertise in a vibrant and engaging manner.
- Excellent working conditions
- Unique work for agency or part time nursing or healthcare staff looking for 2 - 4 days of work per month
- High degree of self initiative and directive required
- On site staff also have the ability to earn CPD hours towards their annual requirements
- Good communication skills are essential
- Front of room design and set-up
- Setting up basic audiovisual equipment (laptop, projector etc.)
- Facilitate event: this involves introducing speakers, introduction and conference closure as well as other general announcements.
- Setting up and managing sales of an 'on-the-day' book sale.
- Reporting on the conference (form templates are provided)
- Registration of delegates on day one of each event
- Distribution of certificates towards the end of day two of each event

On-Site Staff Member (Conference Chairperson) - Sydney | Melbourne
Location: City Department: Conferences Employment: 2 - 4 Days per Month Experience Level: Intermediate / Advanced

Ausmed Conferences is currently seeking an onsite staff member to faciliate educational events held throughout New South Wales and Victoria in 2011. This position is part time and offers 2 - 4 days of work per month. We are seeking applicants who have experience in the healthcare sector, specifically nursing. Training will be provided to the successful applicant. Your responsibilities only include 'on-site' duties; no event organisation is required.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
To be successful in securing this position, you must present in a professional manner and be fluent in verbal and written English. Sufficient computer skills are required such as using the internet and other general computer skills. We are seeking a person who enjoys working face-to-face with customer in a relaxed environment. The applicant must be able to work well in a team environment, and occasionally work under pressure. Phone interviews may be conducted upon application.
