Description

This lecture discusses the prevention, the assessment, the management and care of pressure ulcers. It identifies the people at risk of developing pressure ulcers. The need to provide education for patients at risk of developing pressure ulcers and the nursing staff is emphasised. Foundational nursing care interventions are identified as a vital strategy in preventing the development of pressure ulcers and promoting healthy skin integrity. The importance of documenting nursing care is emphasised. This is a highly interactive session.

Speaker

Tracy Nowicki is employed as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Principle Items Equipment Service at a Major Public Hospital in Queensland. Tracy has acquired extensive clinical expertise and management knowledge whilst working across a number of clinical specialties. A significant focus of her current role is to bring innovation to the development of a central equipment service so as to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Tracy is a highly evaluated speaker.

What a great lecture.Gave quite alot of information in such a short time. Was suprised to hear that the average person, repositioned themselves every 11.6 minutes.
