Emotional intelligence is often overlooked! I wish they covered this at university to start with and then continued with updates at work. It makes sense! Thank you!

This resource regarding emotional intelligence and quotient is a good reading for nurses of all skill levels to undertake. However it does speak of the nurse, RN, EN or otherwise as primarily 'she' even though the author is a male RN. I do not take offense to the terminology used but I believe if it were the other way around, I would want to be viewed as my title of RN or nurse rather than 'he' or 'she'. Inclusivity for men in nursing needs to be viewed as crucial to the future of the profession.

This was a short paper that covered the importance of emotional intelligence in employees and discussed ways in which emotional intelligence benefited situations in health care and how employees with high emotional intelligence make good leaders and that it is a skill that can be learned.
