Need for Program

Sentinel events have been defined as preventable adverse events that result in serious harm to the patient or death. It is up to healthcare professionals to minimise the risk of these events to prevent permanent disability or death.

Purpose of Program

The purpose of this conference is to provide key updates on how to detect and manage potential sentinel and other adverse events in order to reduce patient harm and improve patient safety.

Your learning outcomes:

Recognise the warning signs of a potential sentinel or adverse event
Reduce morbidity as a result of a sentinel or adverse event
Underpin patient outcomes with evidence-based practice, recognised standards and guidelines
