Aged care is an area of nursing that continues to grow in demand owing to Australia's expanding ageing population. An aged care nurse is typically responsible for the administration of medications, wound care and the clinical assessment and documentation of residents. The aged care nurse also oversees the personal care and assistance provided to residents by carers.
Aged care services range from high and low care residential facilities to assisted living and home care.
