Oncology nurses provide care for patients with cancer. They requiring a high level skill mix -- combining clinical skills, such as advanced symptom recognition, with psychosocial care and support to patients and their families.
A haematology nurse is trained to care for patients with blood disorders as well as haematological malignancies such as lymphomas, myelomas and leukaemias. Both oncology and haematology nurses require specialised skills in administering chemotherapy and blood product transfusions.
