Lecture Overview

Antipsychotic medicines are commonly used to treat people with severe mental health conditions. However, these medicines can have serious side effects including obesity, dyslipidaemia, high blood pressure and hyperglycaemia. In this lecture, diabetes nurse practitioner and credentialed diabetes educator Michelle Robins explains why these side effects occur and provides medication management strategies.
