Deborah Parker
Palliative Care / Dementia

Deborah Parker is the director of the University of Queensland, Blue Care Research and Practice Development Centre, and the director of the Australian Centre for Evidence-based Community Care: A Joanna Briggs Collaborating Centre. She is currently a state council member for Palliative Care Queensland, a member of the Caresearch National Advisory Group and a member of the European Palliative Care Association – Taskforce – Palliative Care in Long Term Care. Deborah is experienced in palliative aged care and is passionate about improving the care of older people in residential aged care facilities. Deborah is a co-author of Clinical Practice Guidelines and Care Pathways for People with Dementia Living in the Community and co-investigator on the Australian Palliative Residential Aged Care project, which developed the NHMRC-endorsed Guidelines for a Palliative Approach in Residential Aged Care.
