It is widely understood that the future lies in those youthful enough to affect and experience it. This is a perceptive commentary into the reasons why a high school graduate chose nursing, and thereby is an invaluable resource in understanding how the youth of our contemporary society view nursing. More specifically, Grace McCorkell touches on very interesting aspects of nursing, which she has encountered. Namely, the ability to assist and care for those who need it most; the job security inherent in the profession; the diversity of roles and responsibilities in every nursing aspect; the continual ability to improve and update a nurse's clinical knowledge; and the ability to place value and respect in every human being as an equal member of the human race.
