Mark Kirkland
Haematology, pathology

Mark Kirkland undertook his medical degree at the University of Adelaide before completing both a PhD and specialist training as a haematopathologist at Flinders Medical Centre. After 2 years postdoctoral research in London, he returned to Australia and was appointed as Director of Haematology, and subsequently Director of Pathology, at Geelong Hospital. Between 1998 and 2005 he was Director of Operations and subsequently Chairman of the Board of PathCare Consulting Pathologists. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Frontier Materials at Deakin University in Geelong.
