Quality is defined as 'the degree to which health services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge'. In this lecture, registered nurse Dr Kate Kynoch explores the elements of quality healthcare and explains why health services should be continually monitoring the quality of their care.
