Lecture Overview

'Man-up'... 'don't be a girl'... 'boys don't cry'... Men have traditionally faced pressure from all angles of society to be the 'strong ones', but they can only take so much. This session discusses why some healthcare professionals are advocating a gendered approach to treatment, why men are less likely to seek mental health services and how masculine stereotypes play a part in men's mental health.
