At Ausmed, we believe that education is the single biggest point of leverage for driving improvement in our healthcare system. It’s also the most cost effective.

Why is education so impactful?

Australia’s healthcare system is world class. Yet, every change, regulation, technology, new system, improvement, medicine, equipment or practice that we implement is underpinned by education.

Education is also a change in its own right.

So, who supports Australia’s healthcare educators?

Ausmed does. We believe that if we empower Australia’s healthcare educators, and support them to deliver more impactful education then we’ll have 10, maybe even 100 times more impact on the health of our community, instead of just focussing on delivering the educational change ourselves.

Ausmed’s commitment to healthcare educators and L&D teams

Right across Australia, there are 100s and 1,000s of educators and L&D practitioners who carefully and diligently support the 1.5 million Australians working in our healthcare system to improve care.

These educators and L&D practitioners work tirelessly, navigating complex bureaucracies to implement educational programs that genuinely drive change.

Yet many of them work in isolation, and heavily resource-constrained environments. Too much effort is spent reinventing the wheel. We think this community needs a central online resource to acquire and develop (for free) the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to implement high-impact education.

Our L&D Toolbox is how we deliver upon this.

What is Ausmed’s L&D Toolbox?

If you are responsible for educating Australia’s healthcare workforce, Ausmed’s L&D Toolbox is for you. It’s your personal co-pilot. The place where you can find relevant resources, training plans, useful interviews with others working on the same problems as you, thought leadership, and practical or technical guides covering the things they don’t teach you about learning programs and software.

It’s also the place where Ausmed shares its own insights, techniques and resources (including ones we use internally here at Ausmed). As an education provider ourselves, we maintain a library of 1,300 resources which we deliver to provide over 350,000 healthcare professionals and workers nationally. No other provider in the country is managing a learning program as large as this and our education and clinical governance teams will also use the L&D Toolbox to share the lessons they’ve gained from operating an L&D program at this scale.

We hope you enjoy the L&D Toolbox and always welcome your feedback: ausmed@ausmed.com.au.
