Quality and Safety

Answer for training across all eight Standards from one report.

For quality and safety managers, accreditation coordinators and patient safety leads in hospitals and health services. Ausmed reports training, competency and policy acknowledgement by NSQHS Standard, ward and site from one record, so the committee report and the assessor's request come from the same place.

Book a walkthrough

How big is your gap between an incident and the training record behind it?

Most of a quality manager's training questions arrive after something has happened: a fall, a medication error, a finding at assessment. When every completion, sign-off and acknowledgement sits on one record with its date, the answer is a filtered report instead of a week of chasing.

The review asks who was trained

After an incident, the review wants to know whether the staff involved had done the training and been assessed.

In Ausmed

Each clinician's record shows completions and observed sign-offs with the date and the assessor's name, so you answer it with a filtered report.

Quality & Safety

The revised procedure goes out unread

A procedure changes after an incident, and there is no record of who has read the new version.

In Ausmed

Ausmed Policy™ assigns it to the roles it applies to, sends reminders, and records each acknowledgement against the version.

Clinical Governance

The committee pack is built by hand

Every quarter, someone pulls exports from separate systems into a spreadsheet for the quality committee.

In Ausmed

Ausmed reports compliance by NSQHS Standard, team, role and location from the record, ready to export.

Compliance Reporting

Every question the committee asks has a record behind it.

Coverage by Standard

Report training completion against each of the eight NSQHS Standards, by team, role and location.

Incident follow-up

See who was trained and assessed on a procedure, by whom and when, person by person.

Competency gaps

A Not Yet Competent result stays on the record, with the follow-up in the action log.

Procedure changes

Assign a revised policy to the roles it applies to and see each acknowledgement by version.

Committee reporting

Export the Board Report for the quality committee, with the trend quarter on quarter.

Assessment readiness

Run the Audit Report for any site on the day short notice arrives.

Show the committee where training stands against each Standard.

Ausmed maps training to the NSQHS Standards, so a report shows completion against each Standard for a ward, a unit or the whole service. Overdue items sit in the same view, by Standard or risk area.

The Board Report in Ausmed Analytics™ tracks those figures quarter on quarter and exports to CSV or PDF for the committee pack.

Rolling out a revised policy in Ausmed Policy

Know who has read the procedure since it changed.

When a procedure changes after an incident or a review, Ausmed Policy™ assigns the new version to the roles and wards it applies to. Reminders go to anyone who hasn't acknowledged it.

Each acknowledgement is recorded against the version, so you can show the committee who has read the change and who hasn't, on the day they ask.

Clinical Governance

See the competency gaps before an incident uncovers them.

Ausmed Competency™ records observed sign-offs against your own assessment tools, with Competent and Not Yet Competent results. A Not Yet Competent result stays on the record, with the follow-up in the action log.

The competency dashboard shows results by team, role or location, so the gap shows on a report before it shows in an incident review.

Bring last quarter's quality committee report, and we'll show you the same training figures run from Ausmed, by Standard and by ward.

Frequently asked questions

Can we report training by NSQHS Standard?

Yes. Ausmed reports compliance by NSQHS Standard, team, role and location, and the Ausmed Library™ has more than 1,000 Hospital and Acute Care resources mapped to the Standards.

Does Ausmed replace our incident management system?

No. Incidents stay in your incident management system. Ausmed holds the training, competency and policy acknowledgement records an incident review draws on.

Can we use our own policies and procedures?

Yes. You upload your own policies and procedures to Ausmed Policy™, assign them by role and ward, and record each acknowledgement against the version.
